What better way to start this food blog than with Kebabs? Let me tell you how a Colombian guy tried this exotic delicious food for the first time. Last year, Lauris and I had the opportunity to go study abroad as exchange university students for a period of six months. I stayed in Paris and Lauris stayed in Brussels. Being there, we took the opportunity and traveled throughout several European countries. This allowed us to try different kinds of food among which we found kebabs.
Kebabs have become incredibly popular across the Middle East, Europe and even North America, and they are usually served as fast food. I had my first Kebab when I was in Lyon, France during the summer of 2014. I was with some friends and they showed me what happened to be the first of many more Kebabs to come. It is a relatively cheap food, they come in different variations and you can mix them up with the sauces and vegetables of your choice. I miss those wrapped salty pieces of meat, covered in that acidic yogurt garlic sauce or hummus or spicy sauce. I miss them so bad!

Here's a picture of my first kebab ever. I know it might look a little messy but I took the picture without the intention of posting it. All the vegetables are inside and under the meat. Who doesn't love a Kebab sandwich at two in the morning after a night of partying right? Haha my mouth is watering right now.
In case some of you don't know, Döner Kebab is a traditional dish that comes mainly from Turkey but it's also traditional in Greece and some Arab countries under the names of Gyros and Shawarmas and have some variations. Döner Kebab's translation literally means roasted turning meat. According to Wikipedia, seasoned meat in the shape of an inverted cone is turned slowly against a vertical rotisserie, and then sliced vertically into thin, crisp shavings. These beautiful and tasty pieces of meat which usually come from lamb but can also be made out of chicken or pork are then served in flatbread, such as lavash or pita, or as a sandwich or a wrap instead of being served on a plate. Oh god doesn't that sound amazing?!
So yeah I tried a lot of different kebabs in different countries during those six months I stayed in Europe, some of them better than others but they were all pretty good. So guys if you live somewhere where you can easily get food like this, I envy you so much! If you haven’t tried it yet, go get yourself some because this stuff is amazing! Here are some pictures of me eating kebabs. I took the first picture bellow on a restaurant in Paris called Nabab Kebab. This food chain is located all over France and they serve amazing Kebabs. I highly recommend it.

On the left you'll see a picture of me eating a kebab on the streets of Paris during Christmas. See how happy and excited I look? That's the power of kebabs. And on the right we have Lauris and I eating Shawarma!

Ok this is it for Kebabs. I kope you guys enjoyed it! Keep posted for more interesting food, travel or other fun stuff articles! Thank You!
